Brunson tallies three hits in the win
The Rundown
Chase Brunson doubled with one out in the 11th and was on third after a wild pitch. A walk and stolen base by Nolan Traeger followed. With a 3-0 count, the Utes intentionally walked Anthony Silva to load the bases. Isaac Cadena worked a walk to drive in the go-ahead run. Jack Bell followed with a sacrifice fly for an 8-6 lead.
Nate Stern pitched around a one-out single in the bottom of the 11th. He finished his outing with two scoreless, allowing two hits and striking out four to improve to 3-1 on the year.
TCU built a 5-1 lead through six innings of play. The Frogs opened the scoring with two outs in the first. Cole Cramer tripled ahead of a no-doubt home run off the bat of Noah Franco for a 2-0 lead. Silva singled to lead off the second and scored on a Bell base knock to make it 3-1.
The Frogs struck for two more runs in the sixth, taking advantage of back-to-back walks to Cadena and Bell to lead off the inning. Colton Griffin singled home Cadena and a Sawyer Strosnider sacrifice fly made it a 5-1 ballgame.
Utah battled back with a trio of two-out runs in the seventh to pull within a run. A one out walk in the ninth led to they tying run as the Utes picked up back-to-back singles. Franco stranded the winning run at third with a strikeout.
In the 10th, the Frogs regained the lead, 6-5, after a lead-off single by Bell. Two wild pitches around a long fly ball out off the bat of Cole Eaton allowed Bell to score the go-ahead run. The Utes battled back again to tie the game. A lead-off double scored on a two out base hit to knot the game at six, sending it to the 11th.
Mason Brassfield started and allowed four runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. Louis Rodriguez allowed a run on a walk and struck out two in two innings of work.

With the win, TCU finishes the regular season 37-17 overall and 19-11 in league play. TCU has secured the three seed in the upcoming Phillipps 66 Big 12 Championships. The Horned Frogs will have a bye in the tournament and will play the fourth game on Thursday night slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. They will play the winner of the No. 6 seed vs. No. 11 seed contest. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
