
TCU Evens Series With 3-1 Victory

FORT WORTH – Brayden Taylor's first inning home run set the tone as No. 10 TCU evened the series with a 3-1 win over San Diego Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. Kole Klecker tossed seven innings in his first career home start.
The Rundown
Kole Klecker (3-1) twirled a gem in his second start of the season. He retired the first 14 batters he faced and did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the fifth. The only blemish on his line was a one-out solo home run in the seventh. Klecker finished the afternoon with two hits allowed, one walk and two strikeouts.
Louis Rodriguez took over in the eighth and finished the game to collect his first career save. He retired the side in order in the eighth and had to pitch around a couple base runners in the ninth. His fourth strikeout of the contest ended the game.
Offensively, the Horned Frogs scratched out a trio of runs. Taylor's home run gave the Frogs a 1-0 lead after one. In the third, a lead-off walk to Luke Boyers turned into a 2-0 lead as he scored on a two-out single from Elijah Nunez.
TCU picked up a big insurance run in the eighth to take a 3-1 lead. With two runners in scoring position, Tre Richardson beat out an infield single to drive in Nunez with the final run of the game.
