Frogs homer five times in the win
The Rundown
TCU got the scoring started early with three in the first. Colton Griffin led off the inning with a double and scored two batters later on a Sawyer Strosnider base hit. Noah Franco drove in a run with a ground out and Brady Dallimore added a two-out RBI-single.
The Frogs broke the game open with eight runs in the third, highlighted by a trio of home runs. Strosnider drove in his second run of the game to get things going in the third. Back-to-back home runs from Chase Brunson and Noah Franco followed to make it a 7-0 game. With two on and one out, Jack Bell homered to right field for a 10-0 lead. Brunson picked up his third RBI of the inning with a two-out single.
Texas Tech pushed across two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to make it an 11-3 ballgame, but the Frogs had an answer with five in the fifth. Stronsider hit a three-run home run to right for the inning's first runs. Brunson walked and scored on a Lucas Franco ground out. Preston Gamster doubled home the final run of the frame for a 16-3 lead.
The Red Raiders three runs in the sixth were answered by two for the Frogs in the bottom of the inning. Cole Cramer's first home run of the season made it 18-6. A two-spot in the seventh for Texas Tech accounted for the final score.
Mason Brassfield (3-2) earned the win after allowing three runs on six hits over five innings. He walked three and struck out four.
