Opening Weekend Schedule Set

TCU will face Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia at Globe Life Field
FORT WORTH – REV Entertainment has announced the 2027 Shriners Children's College Showdown schedule for Opening Weekend at Globe Life Field. TCU will square off against Oklahoma, Virginia and Texas.

The 2027 baseball campaign gets underway on Feb. 19 against Virginia. First pitch for that contest is set for 3 p.m. It'll be the first time the Horned Frogs have faced Virginia since the 2023 College World Series.

Saturday's main event will feature the Horned Frogs against Texas. First pitch for the contest is set for 7 p.m. TCU and Texas will be facing off as non-conference foes for the first time since the 2010 NCAA Austin Super Regional.Â

Opening Weekend concludes Sunday night against defending National Champions Oklahoma. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. TCU and Oklahoma are playing the final game in the of the tournament for the second straight season.

TCU returns 13 letterwinners from last season's squad and welcomes 28 newcomers. The transfer class which features 12 Division I transfers, five junior college athletes and on Division II transfer was ranked No. 18 by D1Baseball.com.

Additionally, TCU welcome three new members to the coaching staff over the staff. Thomas Eshelman was hired as the pitching coach, while Danny-David Linahan was brought on as the hitting coach. Horned Frog alum Bryan Holaday joined the staff as the bench and catchers coach.
