Richardson tallies two hits in the loss

LUBBOCK, Texas – TCU dropped a 10-5 decision in the rubber match at No. 22 Texas Tech Sunday afternoon. Tre Richardson led the Horned Frogs with two hits on the day.

The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring with three runs in the first. Luke Boyers walked and moved to second on a Tre Richardson base hit. Brayden Taylor doubled off the center field wall to drive in the first run. Two more runs scored on ground balls for a 3-0 lead.

Texas Tech crawled back into the game with two runs in the second and three more in the third put the Red Raiders in front, 5-3. A fourth inning run extended the lead to three, 6-3.

TCU scratched across solo runs in the fifth and sixth to pull within one, 6-5. Anthony Silva beat out a double play ball in the fifth to drive in a run. David Bishop's sacrifice fly in the sixth drove in Boyers.

The Red Raiders responded to TCU's sixth inning run with two in the bottom of the frame. They added two more in the eighth to account for the final score.

Cam Brown (2-1) took the loss after allowing six runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out two.

Stat of the Game:
33 – With three stolen bases in the game, TCU has now stolen multiple bases in four straight games. They have been successful in 33 straight attempts dating back to March 18 at Oklahoma.
