
Errors Proves Costly In Sunday Loss

NORMAN, Okla. – A seventh inning error led to four unearned runs as Oklahoma rallied from a pair of deficits to take the series from No. 11 TCU with a 7-5 win on Sunday. Brayden Taylor homered for the third straight game.
The Rundown
The Horned Frogs opened the scoring in the fourth, aided by a couple of Oklahoma errors. Karson Bowen gave the Frogs a 1-0 lead with a double. Two batters later, he scored on an error after Logan Maxwell reached on a bunt single for a 2-0 lead. Brayden Taylor's home run in the fifth pushed the lead to 3-0.
The Sooners battled back to within one in the bottom of the fifth and tied the game in the sixth on a bases-loaded hit batter.
The see-saw battle continued as TCU regained its lead with two runs in the seventh. Austin Davis doubled with one out. An intentional walk to Taylor was followed by a Tre Richardson base hit to load the bases. Bowen gave the Frogs a 5-3 lead with a two-run single.
After the first two Sooners were retired in the bottom of the seventh, five straight reached turning a two run TCU lead into a two run Oklahoma lead. A costly error tied the game and two batters later, the Sooners had a 7-5 lead.
Cam Brown started and allowed two runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. He struck out two and walked one. Ben Abeldt (1-1) was the tough-luck losing pitcher after getting touched for two unearned runs on two hits. He struck out one.
