
TCU Completes Victory Over Baylor

Watson tallies two hits
OKLAHOMA CITY – After an almost 12 hour rain delay, TCU completed its 5-2 victory over No. 18 Baylor Saturday morning in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championships at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Brandon Williamson struck out nine in the win.
The Rundown
Brandon Williamson (4-5) was solid in a starting role, tossing seven innings and holding the Bears to just two runs on seven hits. He walked just one and fanned nine.
Adam Oviedo led off the third with a base hit. Hunter Wolfe followed with a triple to put the Frogs on the board. Josh Watson wasted little time making it 2-0 with his first hit of the game. Two batters later, Watson was on third and scored easily on an Austin Henry base hit for a 3-0 lead.
Baylor got a run back in the bottom of the inning as a lead-off triple scored on a sacrifice fly.
TCU answered in the fourth with another run to take a 4-1 lead. Andrew Keefer tripled with one out and scored on a two-out wild pitch.
A two-out rally in the seventh extended TCU's lead to four, 5-1. Wolfe worked a two-out walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Watson's second hit of the night drove in Wolfe.
The Bears pulled back within three, 5-2, on a lead-off home run from Josh Bissonette.
Upon resuming the game in the eighth inning on Saturday, Haylen Green and Cal Coughlin combined to get the final six outs of the game to lock up the victory. Coughlin allowed two hits and struck out one to record his first save of the season.
