Construction has begun on a new Horned Frogs' locker room, classroom, team lounge, sports medicine center, equipment room and coaches' offices. The new facility will be located down the left-field line. A new video board will also be in place for next season. All work will be completed in time for the 2016 campaign.
"We are really excited about this next project," TCU head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle said. "For 11 seasons, we have basically done something every year to improve the ballpark, mainly for our fans. It's long overdue to do some amazing things for our players.
"I am truly grateful to those donors who have been so very generous in the support of some amazing young men."
After last year's opening of the $2.5 million G. Malcolm Louden Player Development Center for Baseball, more than $10 million has been made in facility improvements over the last two seasons.
"Under the leadership of Coach Schlossnagle, our baseball program is an incredible source of pride for the TCU and Fort Worth communities," TCU director of intercollegiate athletics Chris Del Conte said. "We are most appreciative of our donors for making it possible for us to enhance the student-athlete experience for those in our baseball program. Having first-class facilities with all the modern amenities will also enhance our recruiting efforts."
TCU has won a Big 12 championship in each of the last two seasons and made back-to-back College World Series appearances. The Horned Frogs are one of just seven programs to appear in the CWS at least three times in the last six years.
