Oklahoma State walks-off in the ninth
STILLWATER, Okla. – Kollin Ritchie hit the game-tying and walk-off home run as Oklahoma State rallied for a 7-6 victory over TCU Friday night at O'Brate Stadium. The loss snaps TCU's seven-game winning streak. Chase Brunson, Brady Dallimore and Nolan Traeger homered for the Horned Frogs
The Rundown
Oklahoma State scored four unanswered runs to over the final five innings to rally from a 6-3 deficit. The Cowboys answered TCU's four-run fifth with two runs in the bottom of the inning to pull within one. A solo home run opened the inning. After a two-out walk, a throwing error allowed the runner from first to score.
Kollin Ritchie tied the contest in the seventh with his second home run of the game and won the game in the ninth with a one-out solo home run.
After getting out of a first-and-third with nobody out jam in the first, the Cowboys used the momentum to grab a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the inning. Initially ruled a three-run home run, the play was overturned and instead was a two-run double for Aidan Meola. A solo home run in the third gave the Pokes a 3-0 lead.
TCU cracked the scoreboard in the fourth. After a walk to Sawyer Strosnider, Chase Brunson hit a towering home run to left to pull the Frogs within one, 3-2.
Four two-out runs in the fourth flipped the game in favor of the Frogs. Cole Cramer walked and moved to third on a two-out double from Brunson. Nolan Traeger put the Frogs in front, 5-3, with a three-run blast to right. Brady Dallimore went back-to-back with Traeger as he lined one out to left center for a 6-3 lead.
Trever Baumler started for the Frogs and allowed four runs on four hits in four innings. He walked one and struck out four. Mason Brassfield fanned five and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in 3 1/3 innings. Nate Stern (2-1) took the loss after allowing the walk-off home run.
