
TCU Falls Late In Series Finale

Arizona scores three times in final two innings
FORT WORTH – Similar to Friday night, Arizona took advantage of a lead-off walk in the ninth to score the go-ahead run in handing TCU a 3-2 loss in the series finale Saturday night at Lupton Stadium. The Wildcats scored all three of their runs in the final two innings of the game.
The Rundown
TCU clung to a 2-0 lead it built in the first two innings of the game. Jack Arthur's lead-off home run in the first gave the Frogs a 1-0 lead. Noah Franco led off the second with a hit and moved to third on a Brady Dallimore single. Rob Liddington gave TCU a 2-0 lead with a sacrifice fly.
Zack James was once again brilliant in a starting role. After a rocky first inning that saw him give up three hits, he settled in and limited Arizona to just three baserunners over the next six innings. All three baserunners that reached came to lead off the inning. A pair of double play balls in the fourth and sixth helped James keep the Wildcats off the board.
The Frogs went to the bullpen in the eighth. A lead-off walk set the Wildcats on the path to tying the game. With two on and one out, back-to-back singles tied the game. Tanner Sagouspe (2-2) stranded the go-ahead runner at second with a strikeout to end the eighth.
But a lead-off walk in the ninth proved disastrous. A sacrifice bunt moved the runner into scoring position. He was on third with two outs and scored on an infield single to give Arizona the 3-2 lead.
