Taylor hits fourth home run of the season

FORT WORTH – TCU's late inning rally came up short in 12-8 loss to UTSA Wednesday night at Lupton Stadium. Brayden Taylor hit his fourth home run of the season as part of a three hit game.

The Rundown
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, TCU took its only lead of the game with two runs in the bottom of the frame. David Bishop tripled home a run to tie the game and scored on a Gray Rodgers base hit.

UTSA scored three runs in each of the next two innings to open up a 7-2 advantage. The Frogs picked up a two out run on a Logan Maxwell base hit in the fourth to pull within four, 7-3, but the Roadrunners responded with three in the next half inning to extend their lead to seven.

In the sixth, TCU picked up two runs on a Bobby Goodloe double and a Maxwell ground out. Again, UTSA had an answer with unearned runs in the seventh and eighth to restore the seven run lead.

The Frogs scored three times in the eight, highlighted by a Brayden Taylor two run home run, to account for the final score.

Connor Oliver (0-1) made his first start of the season and allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.
