
TCU Completes Sweep; Tops Army 5-2

FORT WORTH – TCU completed the sweep with a 5-2 win over Army Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. Five different Horned Frogs drove in a run, while the bullpen turned in four shutout innings.
The Rundown
For the third straight game Army opened the scoring, picking up two runs on four hits in the first inning. Austin Krob (2-0) minimized the damage, leaving the bases loaded with his third strikeout of the inning.
TCU took the lead for good with three runs in the second. Kurtis Byrne opened the inning with a base hit. Four straight one-out walks had the game tied at two. Elijah Nunez and Brayden Taylor drew the RBI free passes. David Bishop's sacrifice fly put the Frogs on top, 3-2.
The Frogs added a run in the fifth on a Gray Rodgers RBI-ground out and another in the eighth on a Logan Maxwell base hit.
Krob battled through five innings, stranding seven base runners in his time on the mound. He allowed just the two runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out six. Luke Savage pitched three shutout innings, surrendering one hit, walking one and striking out one. Marcelo Perez pitched around a one-out single to pick up the save.
