The Rundown
Oklahoma raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first two innings. A Steele Walker two-run home run in the first opened the scoring. In the second, Tyler Hardman's two-out single in the second pushed the lead to three.
TCU inched back into the game with a run in the second. Conner Shepherd led off the inning with a double and eventually scored on a groundout off the bat of Connor Wanhanen to make it a 3-1 game.
The teams traded runs in the fourth. Hardman picked up another two-out single to restore the Sooners' three run lead, but Josh Watson got the run back with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the inning.
TCU pulled within a run in the sixth. Michael Landestoy singled with one out and raced home on a double from A.J. Balta to make it a 4-3 ballgame.
Steele Walker's second two-run home run of the game with two outs in the seventh pushed the deficit back to three.
The Frogs brought the tying run to the plate with two outs in the eighth, but Watson's bid for his second home run of the game was caught at the fence.
Sean Wymer (1-2) took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits. He struck out seven. Jake Eissler pitched two scoreless frames with two strikeouts.
