
TCU Drops Opener To Oklahoma

FORT WORTH – No. 19 Oklahoma scored five runs in its final three at-bats to rally for the 8-5 win over TCU Friday night at Lupton Stadium. Luken Baker homered as part of a four-hit night for the Horned Frogs.
The Rundown
TCU opened up the scoring in the second after Conner Wanhanen drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in A.J. Balta with the first run of the game.
Two more runs crossed the plate in the third as the Frogs' lead grew to three. Luken Baker singled and moved to third on a Josh Watson double. Michael Landestoy grounded out to drive in Baker and Balta hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
The Sooners first rally of the game tied the contest at three in the fourth. Kyler Murray's first home run of the game pulled the Sooners within one, 3-2. Back-to-back two out doubles tied the game.
Baker's seventh home run of the season in the fifth restored the Frogs' lead, 4-3.
In the seventh, the first three Sooner batters reached. A pair of bases-loaded walks and a hit batter helped Oklahoma erase the deficit and turn it into a 6-4 advantage.
The Frogs would get a run back in the bottom of the inning after Wanhanen worked a lead-off walk. A stolen base, a ground out and a wild pitch allowed Wanhanen to score to make it a 6-5 game.
Oklahoma answered with solo runs in each of the final two innings to account for the final score.
Stat of the Game
13 – Nick Lodolo struck out a career-high 13 batters in the game. As a team, the Horned Frogs fanned 18 Sooner batters.
