The Rundown
TCU had the game's first real chance to get on the board in the top of the third. Zach Humphreys worked a two-out walk, followed by a double from Josh Watson. Another walk, this one to A.J. Balta loaded the bases, but they would stay loaded as a ground ball ended the inning.
Baylor capitalized on a lead-off walk in the bottom of the frame. With two outs, Davis Wendel reached on an infield single. The throw to first was wide allowing, T.J. Raguse to score.
Three more Baylor runs crossed the plate in the fourth. A lead-off home run from Shea Langeliers double the Bears lead. A double from Josh Bissonette and a sacrifice fly from Nick Loftin extended the lead to 4-0.
The Bears added a pair of runs in the next two innings without the benefit of a hit. Five walks contributed to the runs a one score in the fifth on a sacrifice fly and one in the sixth on a wild pitch.
TCU cracked the scoreboard in the seventh, picking up a pair of runs on two hits. Conner Shepherd doubled to open the inning and scored on a Coby Boulware double. Two batters later, Watson's fourth hit of the game drove in Boulware.
Sean Wymer (2-3) took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits. He walked one and struck out two. Cal Coughlin pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
