FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs finished the season ranked among the Top 30 for the second straight season. Baseball America tabbed the Frogs No. 23 in its final poll, while Collegiate Baseball ranked the Frogs 26th. They received votes in the other two national polls after finishing another successful campaign with a 44-19 record.
The 44 wins were the second-most in school history and it was the third time in the last four years that the Frogs have tallied 40 or more wins. TCU swept the Mountain West Conference titles for the third consecutive season, claiming the regular season crown with a 19-5 mark and the tournament championship at Lupton in May. It also marked the fifth straight NCAA Regional Tournament appearance for the squad.
The Frogs placed eight members of the team on the all-conference team. Three members of the squad were drafted in June, with Andrew Cashner leading the way as the 19th overall pick by the Chicago Cubs. Cashner was also one of two Frogs to earn All-American honors. Sean Hoelscher became the sixth Horned Frog to be tabbed as a Freshman All-American under Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle.
At the end of the season, the Frogs said goodbye to five seniors as Bryan Kervin, Clint Arnold, Steve Ellington, Dillon Farish and Collin Auten all wrapped up their successful careers.
