Davis Earns Big 12 Accolades

Right-hander tabbed Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week
FORT WORTH – TCU baseball's Lance Davis has been named the Big 12 Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week for his performance in a complete-game shutout victory at No. 9 West Virginia. It's the second time this season he's earned both accolades.
Davis was brilliant on the mound. He allowed just five base runners in the game on three hits, one walk and one hit by pitch. No Mountaineer advanced beyond second base in the game. He set the side down in order in five of nine innings and retired the final 10 batters he faced. He needed just 108 pitches and finished the night with six strikeouts.
Davis is the first TCU pitcher to toss a complete-game shutout since Payton Tolle handed Oklahoma State a 1-0 loss on March 22, 2024. He is also the first pitcher since Charles King in 2019 to have two complete games in a season and is the first pitcher to have back-to-back complete games since Preston Morrison in 2014.
