Strosnider hits eighth home run of the season

FORT WORTH – TCU dropped a 9-1 decision in the series finale against UCF on Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. Sawyer Strosnider hit his eighth home run of the season in the loss.

The Rundown
Early offense and a strong outing from its starter put UCF on the path to victory. The Knights took an early 3-0 lead in the first and never looked back. They added two in the third and one in the fourth to open up a 6-0 lead. The Knights tacked on its final three runs with two outs in the seventh.

While the Horned Frogs struggled to find hits, they had base runners in seven of the nine innings. Jack Bell registered TCU's first hit of the afternoon, a double to lead off the sixth.

Sawyer Strosnider won a 13-pitch at-bat with a solo home run with two outs in the eighth to account for TCU's lone run.

Trever Baumler took the loss after giving up five runs on six hits in two innings. Nate Stern gave the Frogs 1 1/3 scoreless. Noah Franco made his return to the mound in the ninth. Tyler Phenow got the only batter he faced to ground into a double play.

Stat of the Game:
3 – TCU had just three hits in the game, its second-lowest output of the season.
