Honor is second of the year for Lodolo
FORT WORTH – TCU junior left-handed Pitcher Nick Lodolo was tabbed the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his performance against No. 8 Texas Tech this past Thursday. It's the second honor for Lodolo this season (April 1) and the fifth for the Horned Frogs in 2019.
Lodolo was brilliant over the course of eight innings. He allowed just five hits and struck out 13. Following a lead-off double in the second, he retired 18 of the next 19 batters he faced. He registered 10 strikeouts over that stretch. It was his fifth double-digit strikeout game of the season and now has eight in his career.
He joins Porter Brown (Feb. 18), Austin Henry (March 18) and Jake Guenther (April 8) as TCU honorees this season. Both Brown and Henry were named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, while Guenther was selected as the Player of the Week.
