
Heartbreak Ends TCU's Big 12 Run

OKLAHOMA CITY â€" Twice TCU carried a one-run lead into the bottom of an inning with a chance to win, but each time Baylor hand an answer which ultimately lead to a walk-off 6-5 victory in 11 innings.
The Rundown
TCU battled back from a 3-0 deficit after the first inning to eventually take a late lead. Connor Wanhanen made it a 3-1 game in the second and A.J. Balta's first home run of the game pulled the Frogs within one, 3-2.
The battle of the bullpens kept the score at 3-2 until the eighth inning. For the Frogs, Jake Eissler pitched four scoreless innings, picking up six strikeouts.
Josh Watson opened the eighth with a base hit to left. Balta followed with his second home run of the game to put the Frogs up 4-3.
In the bottom of the inning, TCU wiggled out of a jam after the Bears had two on and nobody out. Cal Coughlin and Nick Lodolo picked up big strikeouts and Sean Wymer got a fly out to end the inning.
Baylor's first rally of the game came with two outs and nobody out. Two high fly balls resulted in disaster as they dropped in harmlessly to tie the game at four.
Again in the 10th, TCU wiggled out of a two on, nobody out jam. Trey Morris came on and got a double play before a strikeout ended the inning.
TCU took advantage of a lead-off walk to Zach Humphreys in the 11th. Conner Shepherd came through with a two-out single to make it a 5-4 ballgame.
But it wasn't to be. Baylor drew worked four walks in the bottom of the inning, ultimately tying it a five with two outs. A base hit from Shea Langeliers capped the comeback.
Stat of the Game
13 â€" A.J. Balta drove in three runs in the game giving him 13 for the tournament. He posted his first career multi-home run game.
