
Trio of Frogs Earn Summer Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas - A trio of TCU Horned Frogs were tabbed as top 10 prospects in their respective summer leagues by Baseball America. Greg Holle, Taylor Featherston and Jason Coats were all honored by the magazine.
Greg Holle earned the highest ranking at No. 4 after spending his summer in the New York Collegiate Baseball League playing for the Saratoga Phillies. Holle made four starts this past summer and posted a 3.92 ERA. The 6-8 righty fanned 16 batters in 20 1/3 innings pitched.
Playing shortstop for the New Bedford Bay Sox, Taylor Featherston was ranked as the sixth top prospect in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. The sophomore led the team with a .321 batting average. Of his 26 hits, six went for doubles, two triples and one home run. He tallied 12 RBIs and was successful in 4-of-5 stolen base attempts.
Rounding out the trio is Jason Coats who was selected as the eighth top prospect in the Alaska League playing for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. The sophomore helped guide his squad to a runner-up finish at the 2009 NBC World Series played in Wichita, Kan. He ranked second on the squad with a .325 average in 34 games played. Of his 38 base hits, 11 were doubles, one triple and five home runs. He ranked third on the team with 30 RBIs.
