FORT WORTH, Texas - The historical 2009 baseball campaign saw the TCU baseball team finish ranked as high as No. 11 in the final poll of the season. The National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) gave the Frogs the No. 11 ranking.
In other polls, the Frogs also finished in the top 20. TCU finished 12th in the USA Today/Coaches poll, while Rivals.com tabbed the Frogs No. 13. Baseball America ranked the Frogs No. 14 and Collegiate Baseball had the Frogs No. 17 in their final poll.
TCU finished the campaign with their fourth 40-win season at 40-18. For the first time in school history, the Frogs were tabbed as a No. 1 seed and hosted a Regional. TCU swept through the regional and advanced to a Super Regional where they forced a decisive game three against the national runner-up Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns were the national No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Frogs were one of just two teams to force a game three in the Super Regional round of the playoffs.
