
Purple and White World Series Starts Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frog baseball team will close out its fall practices with the annual Purple and White World Series beginning Friday night. The Frogs will play a best-of-three series that kicks off Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Lupton Stadium. Friday night's pitching match-up will pit sophomore Omar Arif of the Purple squad against newcomer Jake Friemel, who will pitch for the white team.
Game two of the series is set for Saturday afternoon beginning at noon. The purple team will send newcomer Brad Furnish to the mound, while freshman Sam Demel will get the call for the white team. The squads will take the day off on Sunday before returning for their final contest on Monday afternoon. The 3:00 p.m. tilt on Monday will see senior Chad Underwood for the purple team against junior newcomer Lance Broadway for the white team.
Fans are also invited to the Frogs annual Scout Day, which will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Both Scout Day and the World Series are open to the public and free of charge.
