FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU newcomer, Lance Broadway, earned second-team all-American honors from Baseball America following an outstanding summer season with the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the Northwoods League. The honor is just one in a long list of honors achieved by Broadway this summer. He was also named as the Northwood's league top prospect earlier this month as well as being named to the league's all-star game in July. In just nine games pitched, Broadway compiled a 5-1 record to go along with a 1.80 ERA. He appeared in and started nine games for the Woodchucks, completing one. In 65 innings pitched, Broadway struck out 95 batters, walked 17 and allowed only 40 hits. "This is a great honor for Lance, especially considering he only pitched half of the summer," raved head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "We are excited to have him as a Horned Frog." Broadway transferred to TCU from Dallas Baptist this season and will be a junior.
