TCU Horned Frog Baseball Alumni will have the chance to take the field against the current Horned Frog baseball team in the annual Alumni Game, set for Saturday, February 5, head coach Jim Schlossnagle announced today. First pitch at Lupton Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field is slated for 11:30 a.m.
"This will be a great day and an opportunity for TCU fans to reunite with several former Horned Frog players and also get a sneak preview of this year's team," said Schlossnagle. "It should be a lot of fun."
The alumni team will be coached by former TCU baseball coach and athletics director Frank Windegger. All baseball alumni who are interested in attending the game and/or suiting up for the contest are asked to RSVP to 817-257-5155.
The 2005 edition of TCU Baseball is ranked 37th in the initial Collegiate Baseball poll following a 39-26 record in 2004. The 2004 season saw the Frogs win the Conference USA Postseason Tournament and advance to the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 1994. The 2005 regular season gets underway Friday, February 11 when the Frogs entertain the Utah Utes from the Mountain West Conference in the first game of a three-game weekend series. Friday's game is set for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch.
