
Baseball Inks Another Recruit

Fort Worth, Texas - TCU head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle announced the signing of right-handed pitcher, Chase Phillips from Lubbock. Phillips becomes the eighth member of the 2005-06 recruiting class. He joins six other high school recruits and one junior college transfer.
Phillips is a right-handed pitcher out of Lubbock-Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas. He has been an outstanding player for head coach Fred Oliver.
"We are very excited that Chase has decided to become a member of the TCU family," remarked Schlossnagle. "He is an extremely talented pitcher with a very good arm and good breaking pitches. He has excelled in one of the state's premier baseball programs and we expect him to make an immediate impact in our program."
Phillips joins fellow high schooler's Corey Steglich, Craig Italiano, Paul Kelly, Aaron Smith, Ben Carruthers and Matt Vern. Also transferring to TCU in the fall is Weatherford Junior College product, Donald Furrow.
