FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head baseball coach Lance Brown has announced that Fort Worth-native Tim McGough, a pitcher for the 2002 national champion Texas Longhorns, has transferred to TCU and will join the Horned Frog baseball program in the fall.
The six-foot, 193-pound junior posted a 1-0 record with a 3.93 ERA and one save in 15 appearances last season for Texas. He made four starts, including one versus TCU April 30 at Round Rock. The right-hander hurled 4.2 innings versus the Frogs, allowing three runs on six hits but did not figure into the decision.
"We are excited that Tim is joining our program," Brown said. "He will add depth to our pitching staff and contribute immediately."
The former Nolan Catholic star will have two years of eligibility remaining.
