Baseball Rallies to Defeat Texas Wesleyan

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 25) -- Brad Rogers' two-run home run in the eighth inning lifted TCU to a 4-3 win over Texas Wesleyan Saturday at the TCU Diamond. The Frogs swept the three-game series, improving to 11-19 overall, while the Rams drop to 18-14.
In the eighth, Jason Price walked and advanced to second on Erick Macha's groundout. Rogers then homered to right field off of reliever Darrin Caruso, driving in Price and giving the Frogs their first lead of the game.
Texas Wesleyan scored twice in the first on three hits, the biggest a two-run double off the bat of A.J. Ramirez. The Rams scored once in the third on a triple and a TCU fielding error.
TCU starter Mark Hamilton allowed only three runs, two earned on six hits in six innings. He walked two batters and struck out six. Chad Durham (3-1) earned the win in relief. Durham struck out four men in three innings.
The Frogs scored once in the first and once in the sixth. Shaun Wooley doubled home Trey Crawford, providing the first run of the game for TCU. In the sixth, Macha singled, scoring Mark Hamilton, who had opened the inning with a base hit. Rogers led the Frogs with two hits, including the home run. In the series, Rogers hit three home runs.
The Frogs will host Tarleton State on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
