FORT WORTH – Opening Big 12 Conference play, No. 9 TCU hosts Houston on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. CT before traveling down I-35 for a top-25 match with No. 20 Baylor on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m.
TCU NOTABLES
• No. 9 TCU volleyball opens Big 12 play at home for the second straight season. The Frogs are 1-2 in conference openers under Jason Williams.
• With a 10-2 record through non-conference play, TCU tied its best start to a season since 2015 (also 10-2).
• It marks the sixth time TCU has recorded at least 10 wins in non-conference play to start the season since joining the Big 12 Conference (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015).
• The Frogs held strong at No. 9 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Coaches Poll. It is their highest ranking in program history.
• TCU has won a program record five matches against top-25 teams this season. The Frogs upset the defending national champions No. 5 Penn State, dominated No. 19 UCLA on back-to-back nights, knocked off No. 8 Texas A&M and defeated No. 23 Missouri.
• Sarah Sylvester is putting together quite the senior campaign. The middle blocker leads the Big 12 with 1.49 blocks per set and ranks 19th nationally.
• Senior captain and preseason All-Big 12 member Jalyn Gibson announced on Sept. 5 that she suffered a season-ending knee injury in TCU's win over Penn State.
• Heading into the 2025 season, TCU was picked to finish fifth in the Big 12 Conference, receiving one first place vote.

• TCU has won 14 straight matches on its home court dating back to last season (6-0 in 2025).

• Last season the Sinaloa, Mexico, native became the first Horned Frog to secure Big 12 Player of the Year honors in school history, garnered six Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week awards (tied for the most in a single season in conference history), was named a semifinalist for the AVCA's 2024 Division I Player of the Year Award and was the first-ever back-to-back AVCA/GameChanger Player of the Week in women's D1 volleyball history.
• Finishing the year with 573 total kills (5.12 per set), Parra led all Power 4 players and ranked third nationally. Her 669.5 points (5.98 per set) only trailed AVCA National Player of the Year Olivia Babcock.

• Last season, she added her name to the record book, cracking the top 10 in program history and has continued her climb this year, passing Mattie Burleson (340, 2011-14) for sixth and Anna Vaughn (381, 2003-06) for fifth on the TCU career blocks list.
