TAMPA, Fla. – Led by career afternoons from Becca Kelley and Alice Volpe, No. 11 TCU volleyball continued its winning ways at the South Florida Invitational, taking down Michigan in four sets, 3-1, on Friday afternoon.

The Horned Frogs (5-2, 0-0 Big 12) continued to roll offensively in the Sunshine State, finishing with 65 kills on a .321 hitting percentage. Rosemary Archer was key in guiding the offense, registering a double-double with 37 assists and 10 digs.

Kelley was dominant, flexing her power as the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. The senior racked up 23 kills while hitting .327. Evan Hendrix was right behind her with 19 kills on a .372 clip, while freshman Kinsley Young turned in one of the best offensive performances of her young career with a season-best 10 kills on 20 attempts (.400 hitting).

Defensively, Volpe was all over the court. The junior tallied 27 digs, tied for the most by any player in the Big 12 this season. De'Andrea McMillian led the Frogs at the net with four blocks.

TCU wasted little time getting its offense going in the opening set as Kelley, Hendrix and Young combined for 18 kills. The Frogs jumped out to a 14-7 advantage, but Michigan slowly chipped away and pulled within one late at 20-19. Kelley sparked the 5-0 closing run with back-to-back kills before Hendrix added another. Young slammed the door to hand TCU a 25-19 win as the offense was nearly unstoppable, racking up 23 kills with just two errors to hit .467.

Things were much closer in the second set as both teams traded runs. After falling behind 5-3, TCU answered with a 7-1 run fueled by kills from Kelley, Hendrix and Young. The Frogs eventually stretched their advantage to six at 22-16 and looked to be in control before Michigan made one final push. The Wolverines scored five straight to pull within one at 22-21, but Hendrix stopped the run with a kill to side out. Michigan fended off one set point, but had no answer for Kelley as she put down the final kill of the set at 25-23 to give TCU a commanding 2-0 lead.

Michigan flipped the script in the third behind the service line. Tied at 8-all, the Wolverines rattled off five unanswered points, including three straight aces, and never looked back. TCU did manage to pull within two at 15-13, but the Wolverines took advantage of another 6-0 run to stay alive and extend the match with a 25-17 win.

Looking to finish things off, the Frogs found themselves in a battle in the fourth. Michigan grabbed a 16-12 advantage midway through the set, but TCU responded to tie things up at 18. Again, it was Kelley who started the comeback with a kill before teaming up with McMillian for a block. From there, both teams traded points into the red zone. Reese Robins delivered a kill, and Jalyn Gibson followed with a clutch ace to give TCU a two-point cushion late. Michigan nearly tied the score at 23, but Archer won a joust at the net to induce match point. The Wolverines answered once more before Kelley fittingly put the match away, hammering down her 23^rd kill of the afternoon to seal the set, 25-23.

TCU closes out the South Florida Invitational on Saturday against Dayton at 12 p.m. CT.
