Unbeaten Frogs Back at Home
Fort Worth: TCU is back at home for their seventh straight home game against the LSU Tigers on Sunday, Feb. 19. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Bartzen Varsity Courts.
The Horned Frogs are 6-0 for the first time in the Big 12 era and are looking to improve to 7-0 for the first time since 1984-85.
TCU women's tennis is having one of the best seasons in recent history. Already this season, the Frogs have compiled two ranked wins in singles. Transfer senior Tiphanie Lemaitre earned her first-ranked win of the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide. She knocked off No. 75 Petra Sedlackova (6-3, 6-1) as the Frogs swept Alabama, 4-0.
The captain, Mercedes Aristegui has made a significant impact as the Frogs' most experienced player. The Spaniard has already been named Big 12 Player of the Week earlier this year due to her victory over No. 73 Loudmilla Kareisova (7-6 (7-3), 7-5) of Ole Miss.
Unbeaten Frogs:
Two Horned Frogs have yet to lose in singles play and three doubles teams have perfect records. Aristegui is an unbeaten 6-0 in singles during the spring season winning each of her matches in dual play. Destinee Martins is 5-0 with one win on the No. 2 court and two wins each on the No. 3 and No. 4 courts.
The duo of Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai are currently ranked as the No. 31 doubles pair in the country with a 5-0 record. Jade Otway and Aristegui are 3-0 with each win coming on the No. 1 doubles court. Martins and Margaret Polk also have a 1-0 record thus far this season.
Scouting the Tigers:
LSU (4-1) is coming off a tight 4-3 loss against the No. 21 ranked UCF Golden Knights. The Tigers have multiple players featured in the latest ITA rankings. The first among the Tigers is Kylie Collins who is the tenth-ranked singles player. Anastasiya Komar comes into Fort Worth as the No. 30 ranked duo with a singles record of 4-0. In doubles, two Tigers duos rank among the nation's best. Nikita Vishwase and Komar are the No. 12 doubles team in the country. Komar and Sayia Carrington are the final duo slotted at No. 57.
