
TCU Storms Past Baylor, 6-1

The Horned Frogs started Big 12 action with a 6-1 victory over No. 50 Baylor.
WACO, Texas – Big 12 Conference action for the TCU women's tennis team began with a victory on Thursday afternoon as the Horned Frogs picked up a 6-1 win over No. 50 Baylor at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
TCU (7-4, 1-0 Big 12) took control from the first point and snapped a six-match winning streak by the Bears (5-11, 0-1 Big 12) in the all-time series and scored its first win in Waco since 2013. Identical 6-1 victories on courts one and three in doubles kicked things off for the Frogs as the No. 41 pair of Ellie Douglas and Aleksa Cveticanin got their third straight victory at the top position, while Mercedes Aristegui and Kate Paulus got their second win of the season on court three.
The Frogs did not let up in singles action as TCU won five of the six matches in straight sets. The bottom of the lineup was able to clinch the match as Aristegui started things off with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court four. Chloe Hule followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court five before Addy Guevara clinched the overall match victory with a 6-0, 6-3 victory on court six. After the match was won by TCU, Douglas and Cveticanin each picked up ranked victories. Douglas took out No. 58 Livia Kraus in straight sets on court one, while Cveticanin finished things off with a win over No. 121 Jessica Hinojosa on court two.
