FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis is set for their final regular season road matches against the top 12 ranked Iowa State Cyclones and the West Virginia Mountaineers this weekend.
The No. 50 Horned Frogs (11-7) are coming off back-to-back wins against No. 31 Texas Tech and Wichita State. During those matches, Tiphanie Lemaitre, Yu-Chin Tsai and Destinee Martins won each of their singles matches. Martins is currently working a five-match win streak. The junior has appeared on four different courts this season and has won at least two matches on each one. Tsai has shuffled around the singles courts as well and has been a big contributor in TCU's last two comeback victories over Texas Tech and Wichita State. Senior captain Mercedes Aristegui is 10-2 this season in singles and is 2-1 over other top singles competitors.
TCU is riding a two-match win streak and currently sits eighth in the Big 12 standings with two matches to play. TCU would play West Virginia in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament on April 20th if the season were to end today. To earn a first-round bye in the Big 12 tournament, TCU would need to grab the sixth seed over Texas Tech and Baylor.
