TCU to Finish Regular Season in Morgantown
Ames, Iowa-- TCU fell to the No. 12 Cyclones on Friday afternoon 4-0 in Ames, Iowa.
The freshman Yu-Chin Tsai won the lone set for the Horned Frogs in singles action. She has moved to the No. 3 court over the last few matches and has excelled in her role.
Iowa State improves to 15-4 while the Frogs drop to 11-8 on the season. TCU failed to find a rhythm in the 4-0 loss to the Cyclones.
The doubles point saw Iowa State's Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas bring down Destinee Martins and Tiphnie Lemaitre 6-3. Mercedes Aristgui and Jade Otway struggled against the duo of Oby Kajuru and Xinyi Nong 6-2.
Down 1-0, Iowa State capitalized on the early momentum and never looked back. Lemaitre and Aristesui lost to some tough opponents. On the first court, Lemaitre fell to the No. 56 ranked player on the nation Naklo Thasaporn (6-3, 6-2). The senior captain dropped her singles match to Kajuru in two close sets (7-5, 6-4). Lastly, Martins lost a tiebreakerin the first set of her match (2-7). She battled in the second but ultimately fell 5-7.
