Horned Frogs take on defending national champions, Texas, on the road
FORT WORTH -- TCU women's tennis (8-6) is hoping to record a Top 10 victory on the road when the Horned Frogs take on No. 8 Texas (10-3) at the Texas Tennis Center, tomorrow at noon. TCU is looking for a bounce back performance after falling in its Big 12 Conference season opener, last time out, at Baylor.

FROG FOCUS
After failing to record a point for only the second time this season in the last outing, TCU is going to be looking to Alisa Soloveva and Isabel Pascual to return to their winning form. Soloveva has posted a 5-3 singles record at the No. 1 spot, while Pascual has delivered a 5-2 overall record in singles play, with a 2-1 record at No. 6.
The No. 1 and No. 6 positions have been consistent point producers for the Frogs this season. TCU is 11-6 at the two spots, thanks, in large part, to the performances of Soloveva and Pascual.
Pascual's prowess has extended into doubles play, where she was partnered with Mercedes Aristegui on the No. 1 pairing in the last match. The Spanish duo was locked in a battle with the No. 5 ranked pairing in the country (Mel Krywoj/Alicia Herrero), coming back from down, 3-5, to win two straight deuce points to tie the match up, 5-5, before play was halted. They are 2-2 together as a pair, while Pascual leads all Frogs with seven doubles victories.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Reigning national champions, Texas, enters the dual with a 10-3 record after defeating No. 34 Texas Tech in its conference opener on Friday, 4-1. The Longhorns are on a three-match winning streak, all against ranked opponents, taking down No. 6 California, No. 32 UCF and No. 34 Texas Tech.
This will be the 35th all-time meeting between TCU and Texas. The Longhorns lead the series, 27-7, and have won the last three meetings, in Austin.
