FORT WORTH - The TCU women's soccer team made a 33-point jump in the RPI, released by the NCAA on Monday. TCU opened Big 12 play this past weekend and is now 7-4-1 on the season.
The first NCAA report released on Sept. 22 saw the Frogs ranked No. 75 at the conclusion on non-conference play. A tie against No. 18 West Virginia in its Big 12 opener, helped bolster the Horned Frogs standing. Six members of the Big 12 conference are ranked in the top 45 of the RPI.
The Rating Percentage Index, commonly known as the RPI, is a quantity used to rank sports teams based upon a team's wins and losses and its strength of schedule. The NCAA selection committee uses the RPI as one of the determining factors in selecting at-large teams for the postseason.
TCU returns to the soccer pitch Friday night at Baylor. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
