TCU drops Thursday contest

FORT WORTH – The TCU women's soccer team fell to UCF, 2-1, on Thursday night at Garvey-Rosental Soccer Stadium.

The Horned Frogs (5-5-1, 2-3 Big 12) struck first off a goal from Emma Yolinsky but were unable to hold onto the lead as a pair of UCF goals in the first half would be enough to clinch the result.

THE RUNDOWN
The first 20 minutes of action saw offensive firepower from both sides, as TCU and UCF would both notch scores and shift the momentum of the match.

Yolinsky would strike first and give TCU a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute off a dish from Peyton Nourse and a beautiful combo of shift dribbles that would see her left-footed shot go into the back of the net.

UCF would strike next, grabbing goals in the 14th and 19th minute, and the Knights would end up taking that lead into the half.

The Frogs would put up a handful of chances in the second half, but no change in the score sheet would come as UCF held onto its lead obtained in the first half and closed out the match. TCU earned a pair of opportunities in the final ten minutes off a shot by Grace Vest that was saved and a Peyton Nourse strike from outside the box went just high.

Olivia Geller played all 90 minutes and tallied one save on the night.
