TCU set to take on in-state foe and familiar opponent
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – In an all-too-familiar showdown between two of the best teams in the Lone Star State, the TCU women's soccer team will head to Aggieland to take on Texas A&M on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ellis Field.
The two programs have some of the most compelling narratives in collegiate soccer. Texas A&M is the winningest program in the state of Texas and holds the 14th-most victories in the NCAA all-time. TCU's recent stretch of success has been one for the ages, as the Frogs have hoisted four of the last six Big 12 regular season crowns and most recently made it to the NCAA College Cup for the first time in school history.
These two paths lead each program to Thursday night's showdown, where a pair of fairly new-look rosters will compete for the seventh time in as many seasons.
Last year's showdown between the two storied programs did not lack any dramatics, as TCU was uplifted to a 2-1 win over Texas A&M thanks to an 86th minute winner from AJ Hennessey.
