Vilcinskas to Represent TCU, Belgium at FIBA U18 EuroBasket

6-5 center to go toe-to-toe with top international prospects
FORT WORTH – The success of TCU women's basketball's international recruitment will again permeate on the premier stage in Europe.
Laura Vilcinskas, a soon-to-be freshman for the Horned Frogs, is set to compete at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket native Belgium from Aug. 1-9 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The 16-nation continental championship features the highest-rated prospects from overseas, many of whom will commence their college careers in 2026-27. The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the U19 World Cup in 2027.
A 6-5 center, Vilcinskas is a mainstay for Basketball Belgium. She has trained with the Belgian senior national team throughout the summer in advance of her arrival in Fort Worth. Vilcinskas received her first call-up to the parent club in 2025 for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket qualifiers. The trip to Sweden marks Vilcinskas' second U18 EuroBasket appearance. She averaged a near double-double of 10 points and 9.7 rebounds per outing at the event in 2025, helping Belgium place fourth. Vilcinskas led the tournament in rebounding average despite playing up in age.
She has played professionally for three seasons for Kangoeroes in the BNXT League, the top professional basketball league in Belgium and The Netherlands. Vilcinskas most recently averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game across 10 outings for the club in the 2026 EuroCup.
Vilcinskas signed with TCU in November. She is one of three first-year players on the Horned Frogs' 2026-27 roster alongside fellow European import Claudia Contell and Jessie-May Hall of Australia. Her arrival adds to TCU's growing global pipeline. She is the ninth international player the Frogs have landed under head coach Mark Campbell. Vilcinskas' native Belgium is one of seven countries represented on TCU's roster.
Belgium opens the tournament on Saturday opposite Finland and will also battle Italy and Sweden in the group phase. Teams then play four classification games to determine final positions.
