TCU maintained a one-game lead for first place in the Big 12 standings with two games remaining in the regular season. The Horned Frogs will clinch a share of their second straight Big 12 championship and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a victory at Cincinnati on Wednesday.
Sunday's stunner over the Cyclones (21-7, 9-7 Big 12) also extended TCU's NCAA-leading home winning streak to 41 games.
The Horned Frogs 13-point rally was good for the largest fourth quarter comeback in a Big 12 game in program history. TCU trailed for more than 36 minutes and led for just 2:48.
Miles posted her fifth triple-double of the year, padding her final stat line with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Her five triple-doubles in the 2025-26 campaign are tied with Caitlin Clark for the third-most in a season in NCAA history. She added to her Big 12 single-season record and is now tied with Baylor's Brittany Griner and Shalee Lehning (Kansas State) for the most by a Big 12 player over a career.
Three straight layups from Miles brought TCU back within two possessions of the Cyclones down 68-64 with 4:12 left. Taylor Bigby capped a 16-4 run with a 3-pointer from the right key that made it a one-point ballgame at the 2:54 mark in the fourth. Bigby's deep ball – her third of the night – ignited a run of 14 unanswered points for TCU. Miles then buried a go-ahead jumper and reeled off eight straight points to give the Frogs a 75-70 edge with under 1:00 to play. A steal and a score by Donovyn Hunter capped TCU's elongated run. Miles iced the game with a pair of free throws.
Marta Suarez posted a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double while Clara Silva joined the duo in double figures with 11 points.
Bigby finished 3-6 from behind the arc. Each of her 3-pointers came at critical junctures.
TCU fell behind 31-18 midway through the second quarter. Bigby halved the deficit heading into halftime with her first deep ball, connecting from distance on TCU's final first half possession to make it a 40-34 ballgame.
Bigby then got TCU within a bucket of the Cyclones trailing 47-45 at the midpoint of the third.
TCU went 1-7 from the field over the final 5:00 of the frame as Iowa State stretched its lead to 58-49 entering the fourth.
Iowa State knocked down 12 of its first 24 shots as TCU uncharacteristically struggled from the field for much of the game. The Horned Frogs misfired on nine straight attempts from distance to begin the game and finished 6-23 behind the arc.
TCU shot 57 percent from the floor (12-21) in the final period and outrebounded the Cyclones 29-19 in the second half.
Suarez and Miles snagged seven rebounds apiece out of the intermission as TCU finished with 46-41 edge on the glass.
Audi Crooks led the Cyclones with 22 points while Jada Williams flirted with a triple-double of her own, tallying 15 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Crooks tallied eight points in the first period to give Iowa State a 24-16 head start.
TCU limited the All-American Crooks, who ranks second in the nation in scoring average (25.4 ppg), to 10 points in the second half, with Kennedy Basham doing much of the defensive legwork. Crooks fouled out of the game with 1:35 remaining and TCU leading 71-70.
Basham finished with seven rebounds, six points and a game-high four blocks over 21 minutes off the bench.
TCU became only the second team to defeat Iowa State, the preseason AP No. 14, at full strength. Addy Brown pitched in 11 points and seven rebounds in her second game back from a nearly two-month injury absence. The Cyclones are 14-2 when playing with their primary starting lineup.
