Highest preseason ranking in program history
FORT WORTH– The Horned Frogs and Mark Cambpell continue to break records going into their fourth season together.
TCU women's basketball received the No. 15 ranking in The Associated Press poll to start the 2026-2027 season.
The prognostication is the highest preseason ranking in program history.
It marks the first time in 23 years TCU has been ranked in the preseason AP Top-25 in consecutive seasons. TCU debuted at No. 17 in the first poll ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The No. 15 billing signifies the fourth time the Frogs have featured in the inaugural AP Top-25.
The Horned Frogs are the highest-ranked Big 12 team, ahead of No. 22 Oklahoma State and No. 24 West Virginia. TCU was picked second in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches' Poll, with only one first place vote and three points total separating the Frogs from predicted champion Oklahoma State.
TCU will open the season with four ranked matchups on the ledger, including three in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs first top-25 matchup is slated for Dec. 6 at Dickies Arena opposite No. 6 Texas. The Frogs twice face West Virginia in conference play and battle the Cowgirls on Jan. 28 in Stillwater.
With the ranking, TCU has now held a top-20 mark in 39 consecutive polls dating back to Nov. 17, 2024, good for the longest streak in TCU basketball history.
The Frogs finished No.6 in the Associated Press poll last season for the second year in a row, tying their highest national ranking.
Under Campbell, the Horned Frogs have competed to a 65-12 record as a ranked team. TCU finished 4-4 vs. ranked opponents last season.
TCU opens the 2026-27 season at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 against Oral Roberts at Schollmaier Arena.
New season ticket purchases remain ongoing and start at just $155. Group and single-game general admission ticket sales began on Monday. Fans can order now by calling the TCU Ticket Office at 817-257-1849 or online on GoFrogs.com.
