
NCAA Second Round Preview: No. 6 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION – For the fourth time in the last four seasons, TCU volleyball is dancing into the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament after the Horned Frogs swept SFA on Friday night in Reed Arena. It sets up a rematch between No. 20 TCU and No. 6 Texas A&M with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
TCU NOTABLES
• TCU is eying its first trip to the Sweet 16 in school history.
• In each of the past four seasons under head coach Jason Williams, TCU has advanced to the Second Round of the Big Dance, one of 15 teams nationally to do so.
• TCU defeated Texas A&M in a five-set thriller in Fort Worth on Sept. 10. This will mark the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs.
• Sophomores Evan Hendrix and Becca Kelley earned All-Big 12 honors. Hendrix was a unanimous First Team selection, while Kelley received a Second Team nod.
• Against SFA, Hendrix recorded her 500th kill of the season, becoming just the fifth Horned Frog ever and 26th player in Big 12 history in the rally scoring era to accomplish the feat.
• Hendrix is responsible for 564.5 points scored in 2025. In TCU volleyball history, only Melanie Parra has scored more in a single season (2024 and 2025).
• The Horned Frogs recorded 20 wins for the second consecutive year, marking their first back-to-back 20-win seasons since 2008-09.
MOVIN' ON

• The Frogs dominated the first set, winning 25-8. It is the largest margin of victory in a set under Williams, and most since TCU took the first set from Arkansas-Pine Bluff 25-7 in 2014.
• Basically making her NCAA Tournament debut, Evan Hendrix finished with a team-high 19 kills. Last season, she came off the bench at No. 16 Oregon, tallying one kill on three swings.

• Overall, TCU improved to 6-1 in the Round of 64 of the NCAA Tournament.
