FORT WORTH – TCU sophomore outside hitter Evan Hendrix capped off her 2025 season with Third Team All-American honors, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
Hendrix is the seventh player in TCU history to earn AVCA All-American honors and joins Melanie Parra as the only Horned Frogs to ever be named to one of the first three teams, which are comprised of the top 42 athletes in the nation.
It was a breakout season for the sophomore outside hitter. Hendrix made a massive jump, racking up 543 total kills after only tallying 96 as a freshman. She was unanimously selected to the All-Big 12 First Team by the league's head coaches, captured an AVCA Southwest All-Region nod and secured a pair of Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors in addition to being a member of the AVCA's National Player of the Year Watchlist.
Playing one of the toughest schedules in the country that featured 16 matches against ranked opponents, Hendrix shined, posting double-digit kills in 29 of TCU's 32 contests, including 11 with 20 or more. In conference play specifically, she led the Big 12 with 4.96 kills per set through the 18-match slate.
Hendrix ranks among the nation's best attackers with 543 total kills (10th) and 592.0 points (13th) this season. The Scottsdale, Arizona, native also broke the sophomore school records for kills (Dominika Szabo, 473 in 2002) and points (Kourtney Edwards, 504.0 in 2007) and cemented her name in the history books as just the fifth Horned Frog and the 26th player in Big 12 History (Rally Scoring Era) to eclipse 500 kills in a single season.
This year, she was key in leading TCU to its first back-to-back 20-win regular seasons since 2008-09 and a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance. Against Texas A&M in the second round, Hendrix finished with 26 kills, the most by a Frog in an NCAA Tournament match in program history.
Hendrix was one of five student-athletes to represent the Big 12 on either the first, second or third team and one of 14 in the conference to earn All-American honors. The full list of AVCA All-Americans can be found here.
