Frogs set for first meet of the spring season
FORT WORTH – TCU swimming and diving is set to host Texas A&M in final home meet of the season at the University Rec Center. The women's team will compete on Friday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. and the men's team on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m.
Senior day celebrations will begin approximately 30 minutes before start time of each meet. All meet results can be found on the meet mobile app.
LAST TIME OUT
The Frogs are looking to build off a record setting meet at the Mizzou Invitational. During the thrilling three-day event, athletes shattered 11 school records, set an impressive 40 top-10 records and clinched seven gold medals.
Of the eleven records broken, five of them came from relays beginning with the women's 200 free relay where Olivia Rhodes, Serena Gould, Tania Quaglieri and Mikayla Popham set the first school record with a time of 1:30.49.
Both TCU 400 Medley Relay teams set new school records where the TCU women's team made up of Rhodes, Nina Vadovicova, Quaglieri and Jeanne Dahmen swam to a time of 3:36.97. On the mens team, Raphael Paiva Da, Sadlowski, Jadon Wuilliez and Edgar Cicanci, followed suit with a time of 3:08.86.
The women's 200-yard Medley team made up of Rhodes, Dahmen, Vadovicoca and Quaglieri set the school record with a time of 1:38.09. The men's 800 freestyle relay team made up of Luke Dimiceli, Fabian, Nick Rozenberg and Freri set the record with a time of 6:25.83.
Quaglieri set three individual school records in the 100 Butterfly (53.10), 100 Back (52.61) and 100 Back LC (1:03.67). Freri a new individual record with a 1:45.28 in the 200 IM.
Popham set a school record in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:48.50. Vadovicova out swam her own standing record in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:00.45. Sadlowski set one individual record in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 46.26.
On the boards, Oliver Cazaly secured two gold medals at the invitational with a score of 330.85 on the 1-meter and 364.05 on the 3-meter. Anna Kwon secured a gold medal on the 1-meter with a score of 321.15. Elliott Dillon set a career high and stayed at fourth best in the TCU record book on the platform with a score of 308.30.
