The Rundown
The Frogs, who led by as many as 22 Friday night and claimed their 19th-straight non-conference win, did most of their damage at the charity stripe, going 36-of-47 for the game. The 36 free throws made rank as the 11th most in school history, while the 47 attempts fell just four shy of cracking the top-10 all-time. In the second half alone, the Purple and White shot a blistering 89.7 percent from the free throw line, going 26-of-29.
Sophomore Vladimir Brodziansky led all scorers Friday, recording his first career double-double, tallying a game-high 19 points and 10 boards. Junior Chauncey Collins followed with a career-high 17 points, while Karviar Shepherd chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds. Brandon Parrish rounded out the Horned Frog notables, dropping 10 points on 3-of-3 from the field.
For the game, TCU, now 1-0 on the season, shot 49 percent from the floor, including 66.7 percent from behind the arc in the opening frame. The Frogs also controlled the glass to the tune of a 40-34 advantage, while swatting away 10 shots. Freshman JD Miller did most of the damage, recording five blocks.
TCU would open the second half just like they did the first as both Brodziansky and Shepherd scored early on to give the Frogs a 46-33 advantage. Parrish then connected on an old fashioned three-point play to make it a 49-33 ballgame and the Frogs had jumped all over the Lions, pushing their lead to a 55-37 following a dunk by Miller.
TCU would go up by 20 midway through the second half, but SLU would continue to battle, pulling within 12 on a 9-0 run before Shepherd made back-to-back free throws from the charity stripe to stymie the attack.
The Frogs ran their lead back to 75-60 when Malique Trent soared to the hole for a thunderous dunk. Southeastern Louisiana would continue to battle, but TCU pulled away thanks to a 25-of-27 showing from the charity stripe in the second half.
The teams opened the game trading three's before Brodziansky and Shepherd nailed back-to-back layups to give the Frogs a 7-3 lead with 17:43 showing on the clock. By the time Parrish and Brodziansky dialed it up from deep, TCU had jumped on top with a 12-0 run to make it 15-3 at the 16-minute mark.
During the run, the Horned Frogs did it with defense as the Frogs suffocated SLU and didn't allow the Lions to record their second field goal from the floor until the clock hit 14:02.
Midway through the opening frame, the Frogs had jumped out to a 20-10 lead, but Southeastern would cut it to 23-15 with a little over 8 minutes left in the half. The Lions would continue on the attack, cutting it to a three-point advantage a few plays later before Lyrik Shreiner tickled the twine from deep at the 5-minute mark.
Brodziansky then caught fire on both ends, scoring on one end and then swatting away a would-be shot on the other to ignite the standing room only crowd late in the opening frame. The Frogs' then hit back-to-back triples, which propelled TCU to a 38-22 lead down the stretch, which was thanks to a 15-2 run. TCU would take a 42-31 lead into the break.

"We have a long ways to go in a short period of time. We have a lot of new faces that are very talented but they have to get accustomed to playing at this level. The atmosphere tonight was great. I just wish we could've played cleaner and crisper."
