A Look Back At Last Week:
The Frogs went 0-2 last week to move their record to 14-6 on the season. They played their most complete match of the season, but came up five points short in a five-game loss at #19 BYU. A disappointing game one loss at #16 Utah led to a three-game loss to close out the weekend.
In the two matches, the Frogs hit just .121 as a squad, led by Kourtney Edwards .385 (15-5-26) attack percentage. LeMeita Smith averaged 3.50 kills per game and Anna Vaughn led the blockers with eight. Smith poured in 19 kills against BYU to lead the squad. She led again on Saturday with nine kills. Nirelle Hampton averaged 9.75 assists per game, helping the Frogs average 13 kills a game. Calli Corley paced the Frogs defensively, picking up five digs per set.
The New Mexico Series History:
New Mexico leads the all-time series, 4-0. Prior to becoming conference foes in the Mountain West, TCU and New Mexico squared off as members of the Western Athletic Conference in 1996. The Frogs are 0-2 against the Lobos in Fort Worth but took them to a decisive fifth-game in their last visit to the Metroplex on October 8, 2005.
The UT-Pan American Series History:
The Frogs have won all three previous meetings against the Broncs in the brief history of the series. Saturday will mark UTPA's second trip to Fort Worth. The Frogs took the only meeting on their home court by a 3-0 score. TCU has won the other two meetings on UT-Pan Am's home court.
