
TCU's Leimbach drops tough match in Ashland

ASHLAND, Ky. -- Sophomore Nicole Leimbach from the TCU women's tennis team was defeated in the first round of the main draw in the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital Tennis Classic in Ashland, Ky., on Wednesday. The event is part of the United States Tennis Association Pro Circuit.Leimbach was downed in three sets by Stephanie Dubois, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-0. Dubois is the tournament's No. 5 seed with a world ranking of 142nd.
Leimbach will compete in her first collegiate event of the fall when she travels to Pacific Palisades, Calif., for the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. The All-American is the first of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's three grand slam tournaments. Leimbach, who is ranked No. 3 among the college ranks, begins play in the main draw Oct. 6.
