FORT WORTH – No. 10 TCU volleyball got back in the win column, sweeping Texas Tech on Friday night in Schollmaier Arena.

The Horned Frogs (15-3, 6-1 Big 12) dominated the match from start to finish, picking up their sixth win in conference play and eighth at home this season. TCU was clicking in all parts of the game, hitting .308 as a team while holding the Red Raiders to just a .129 clip. The Frogs also took over at the net, out-blocking Texas Tech 11-2, and added eight aces from the service line.

The highlight of the match came in the first set when Alice Volpe joined the 1,000 digs club. Entering the match just two digs shy of 1,000 for her career, the junior libero became the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone and finished with 10 on the night.

Later in the first set, Addy Horner also subbed into the match. The sophomore setter made her TCU debut after missing the first half of the season with an injury. She dished out seven assists along with Rosemary Archer and Reese Wilburn to guide the Frogs' offense to a .300+ hitting percentage for the seventh time this season.

Evan Hendrix powered the TCU attack, hammering down 17 kills on a .348 clip while committing just one error across 46 swings. Jalyn Gibson was nearly flawless, finishing with eight kills and no errors (.471 hitting). Becca Kelley added nine kills and five blocks, while Kinsley Young made her presence felt all over the court with four aces and four blocks.

TCU wasted little time taking control of the opening set. After the two sides traded points early, the Frogs created separation with a 4-0 scoring run that featured an ace from Kelley and a pair of kills by Hendrix to give TCU an 11-6 advantage. Gibson added an ace a few plays later to stretch the lead to 15-8 before back-to-back stuff blocks pushed the advantage to 19-10. Texas Tech made a small push late, but TCU closed out the set 25-15 with three straight points.

The Red Raiders put up more of a fight in the second as the two sides battled through five ties, but the Frogs never relinquished control. Up 19-18 late, TCU rattled off three straight points behind kills from De'Andrea McMillian and Hendrix to create some breathing room. Texas Tech fought off three set points, but Young and Lauren Murphy teamed up for a block to cap off the 25-21 set victory and give the Frogs a 2-0 lead in the match.

Looking to complete the sweep, TCU came out firing in the third. The Frogs stormed out to a 15-6 lead at the media timeout behind a strong stretch from Hendrix and Young. The lead grew to double digits as TCU led by as many as 11. Freshman Morgan Holloman provided a spark off the bench with a kill and three blocks late in the frame before a Texas Tech service error sealed the set, 25-17, and completed the sweep.

No. 10 TCU continues its homestand on Sunday, Oct. 18, when it welcomes Baylor to Schollmaier Arena for a 2 p.m. first serve.
