Opponents for 18-game conference schedule released
FORT WORTH – Highlighted by TCU home games with Baylor, BYU, Kansas and Texas Tech, the Big 12 Conference announced its men's basketball schedule matrix on Thursday.
Just like last season, the Big 12 slate will feature an 18-game schedule for each of the 16 teams. Every team will play each other at least one time, either home or away, and play three teams twice, home and away.
The Horned Frogs will play Baylor, UCF, Colorado, Kansas, Texas Tech and Utah at home only and Arizona, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, West Virginia on the road only. Arizona State, BYU and Oklahoma State will be played both home and away.
Opponents were selected to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.
TCU returns five players from last season's team and welcomes 10 newcomers for Jamie Dixon's 11th season as head coach of the Horned Frogs. TCU went a program best 11-7 in the Big 12 last season and finished sixth. The Frogs have reached the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five seasons.
