
TCU Grabs Two Victories, Secures Sixth Sweep in a Row

TCU takes down UCSB and Portland on Saturday
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Saturday saw nothing but success for the TCU women's tennis team, as the Horned Frogs earned 4-0 victories over UCSB and Portland to earn the squad's sixth 4-0 win in a row.
TCU only lost one set on the day, as the Frogs were able to put together seven singles victories and one doubles point to cap off the 2-0 stretch and secure the team's sixth straight win.
SIX IN A ROW
With the two victories today, TCU has secured its sixth 4-0 victory in a row. The last time the Frogs won six consecutive matches was the 2022-23 season, when TCU won its first six matches to open the season.
RANKED DUBS
TCU defeated No. 31 UCSB in emphatic fashion on Saturday, 4-0. With the win over the Gauchos, the Frogs earned their first victory over an opponent slotted in the ITA rankings since toppling 13th-ranked Texas Tech on March 14, 2025 in Fort Worth.
MATCH ONE RECAP
Against the No. 31 team in the country, TCU did not cease any of its momentum created over the last four victories. After winning the doubles point in two matches, the Frogs would drop only one set in singles play and grind away a win versus the Gauchos.
DOUBLES RUNDOWN
Doubles play was filled with nothing but resiliency and grit from TCU.
The Frogs' top pairing at the No. 1 spot of Yu-Chin Tsai and Victoria Gomez O'Hayon made quick work with My-Anh Holmes and Lily Pradkin, notching a 6-1 victory.
After being down 2-5, Raquel Caballero Chica and Jennifer Jackson managed to secure a dramatic comeback victory and defeat Shachf Liebermann and Ekua Youri, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point and a 1-0 lead for the Frogs.
Tomi Main and Cayetana Gay were knotted even at 5-5 on court three before the doubles point was secured by TCU and play ended.

SINGLES RUNDOWN
Heading into singles action, TCU did not lose a step and kept the same energy secured during doubles play. Tsai was first to win her court, improving her singles record to 5-0 on the year with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Shanelle Iaconi.
Next was Jackson, who took down Raphaelle Leroux 6-1, 6-4 to put TCU one point away from clinching the match.
Caballero Chica posted her first singles triumph of the spring season, besting Ekua Youri 7-5, 7-5 to end the match on the spot and give TCU a 4-0 victory.

In untraditional fashion, the two teams started out the match with singles play, forgoing the doubles point unless it became necessary. TCU in fact made sure that it was not necessary, winning four courts with ease to earn a 4-0 victory.

With a slightly different lineup than match one, Main and Letizia Corsini were given a chance to shine in singles play. Coincidentally, those two individuals would go on to earn singles victories to help guide the Frogs to the win.
The first singles victory of the match would go to Gay, as she took down Lexie Flores, 6-0, 6-1 to start out the match strong.
Corsini would get the job done on the No. 6 court, defeating Kylie Canubida, 6-2, 6-2.
Ramos Sierra would grab a win against Dariya Radulova, 6-3, 6-0, to put TCU one point away from clinching. Moments later, Main would deliver, notching a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Meagan Pearson.

TCU will return home for its first test of conference play. The Frogs will open their Big 12 slate with a showdown against a familiar foe in Arizona State on Friday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. in Fort Worth.
